Information, collections and memory

My career spans public libraries, museum libraries, documentary archives and special collections. I work on collection organisation and technical processing, preventive conservation and facilitating access to information.

At Museu de Arte do Rio, my experience includes managing the library and documentary archive, assisting researchers, supervising interns and supporting exhibitions. I also take part in training and knowledge-sharing initiatives on collections and memory.

Professional practice

Experience with library and collection management systems

I have extensive experience with Pergamum, SophiA Biblioteca and Alexandria Online, which I use in collection organisation and management and in library services.

I also have experience with In Patrimonium, a computerised system for managing cultural heritage, museums and collections.

Research

Heritage recognition and musealisation of special collections

My master's research explores the distinctive nature of bibliographic collections in art museum libraries. It brings together Library Science, Museology and Information Science, examining the organisation and representation of rare books and artists' books through research involving MAR and MAM Rio.
